当今是一个人人都在谈论叙事的时代。矛盾的是，叙事话题的泛滥竟暴露了一场叙事的危机。在“故事化”的喧嚣中，充斥着一种既无意义又无方向的叙事真空。 资本主义借助故事化将讲述占为己有。它让讲述听命于消费。故事化生产出消费形式的故事。在故事化的帮助下，产品被赋予了情绪，向消费者承诺独特的体验。如此一来，我们买卖、消费的其实是叙事与情绪。“故事”被推销，故事化实为卖故事。 讲述创造出共同体，而故事化只催生出社群。社群是共同体的一种商品形式，由消费者组成。任何的故事化形式，都无法重新点燃那团把人聚在一起相互讲述故事的篝火。篝火早已熄灭。
