圣杯是西方文学的重要意象之一。本书以人文主义兴起后西方作家对圣杯意象的重新阐释为起点，厘清其不同时代的象征内涵，力求深入挖掘圣杯意象的文学性以及文化特性；同时，探讨了圣杯意象的传承性及其与西方文学和文化转型之间的互动，探寻促进当今“圣杯热”全球化的精神动力源，分析文学、民族、文化三者一致的整体性内涵，以此把握西方的大众文化以及当代文学的发展走向，并以期为讲好中国故事、传播中国文化提供有益的借鉴。
