Summary
《楚辞》向西方世界的传播具有重要的文化交流意义，不过由于语言和地域的隔阂，中国学术界对这一方面情况的掌握相当有限。本书通过综合使用多种文献检索方法，调查并阅读了欧美学者译介《楚辞》的文献资料300余种，并以此基础展开研究。全书首先将欧美楚辞学史分为三个发展阶段加以阐述，追溯《楚辞》西译的历史，考察不同时期各国楚辞学的发展特点。之后选取6位有代表性的学者进行个案分析，将他们的学术研究横向与中日学者比较，纵向放在《楚辞》研究史中考察，力图展现西方学者在《楚辞》解读方面的独到见解与方法，并评判其得失。
