本书系作者与景宋（许广平）在1925年3月至1929年6月间的书信合集，共收信135封（其中鲁迅信67封半），由鲁迅编辑修改而成，分为三集，1933年4月由上海青光书局初版。《两地书》第一部分说的是女师大的事，没有一点情爱；第二部分是厦门与广州间的通信，生活琐事居多，关爱之情已溢于言表；第三部分是北京上海间的通信，也是生活琐事居多，关心之情溢于言表。
